Tarot card meanings

Major Arcana — the 22 great archetypes of the deck

Wands — fire, drive and creative spark

Cups — feelings, love and intuition

Swords — thought, truth and conflict

Pentacles — work, effort and the material world

Choose your spread

Yes or No (one card). The simplest reading on Omoy. Hold a clear question in mind and draw a single card. Upright cards generally lean toward yes, reversed or challenging cards lean toward no or "not yet", and a few cards suggest the answer depends on you.

Three-Card: Past / Present / Future. A classic layout for seeing a situation as a story. The first card shows what led here, the second describes where things stand, and the third points to where the current path is heading if nothing changes.

Love: You / Them / Connection. Built for relationships of any kind. The first card reflects your feelings and needs, the second offers a view of the other person's energy, and the third describes the space you share.

Career: Now / Obstacle / Next Step. A practical spread for work and ambitions. It names your present position, the friction you're up against and a constructive move to consider.

Inside the 78-card library

A standard tarot deck holds 78 cards, and Omoy draws from all of them.

The 22 Major Arcana run from The Fool to The World. They speak to turning points and big life lessons: beginnings, choices, endings, growth. When several appear in one reading, the theme is often a significant one.

The 56 Minor Arcana describe everyday events and moods. They are split into four suits of fourteen cards, Ace through Ten plus Page, Knight, Queen and King:

  • Wands — energy, creativity, drive and passion projects.
  • Cups — emotions, relationships, intuition and care.
  • Swords — thoughts, communication, conflict and clarity.
  • Pentacles — work, the body, home and material stability.

About reversed cards

Roughly 30% of draws come up reversed. A reversal doesn't automatically mean something bad. It can signal energy that is blocked, delayed, turned inward or still developing. Read it as a softer or more internal version of the upright meaning.

Phrasing a good question

Open questions usually give richer readings. Try "What do I need to understand about this?" or "What could help me move forward?" Typing your question is optional, and if you do type it, the text stays in your browser and is never sent anywhere.

A tool for reflection

Tarot is a language of symbols, and its value lies in the conversation it starts with yourself. Every reading on Omoy is for entertainment and reflection only, offered without promises about outcomes.

Frequently asked questions

Which tarot spread should I choose?

Use Yes or No for a quick nudge, Three-Card for the arc of a situation, Love for relationships and Career for work questions. When in doubt, the three-card spread is a good all-rounder.

Does Omoy use the full tarot deck?

Yes. Every reading draws from all 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana and 56 Minor Arcana across Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles.

Why are some cards upside down?

Cards appear reversed about 30% of the time. A reversal adds nuance, often pointing to energy that is blocked, delayed or turned inward.

Can tarot predict my future?

Omoy's readings are for entertainment and self-reflection only. The cards can help you think through a situation, but they don't determine what happens.
