How the career spread works

Think about your working life: a job you're in, one you're hoping for, a project, a side business or a study path. Tap to draw and Omoy lays out three cards from the full 78-card deck. The reading is free, there's no sign-up, and it takes about ten seconds.

What each position means

1. Now. The first card describes your current position. It might reflect how you feel at work, the energy of your team or the stage your project has reached. Read it honestly; it's a snapshot, not a grade.

2. Obstacle. The middle card names the friction. Sometimes it's external, like a slow process or a difficult dynamic. Often it's internal: doubt, burnout, perfectionism or a habit that no longer serves you. Seeing it clearly is the first step to working with it.

3. Next Step. The final card suggests a constructive move. It isn't an instruction, more a direction to explore. A Page might hint at learning something new; a Knight might encourage action; a Four might suggest rest before the next push.

The suits at work

Each suit has its own flavour in a career reading:

  • Pentacles — skills, steady progress, workplace security and the practical side of a job.
  • Wands — ambition, creativity, leadership and new ventures.
  • Swords — strategy, communication, decisions and workplace tension.
  • Cups — job satisfaction, team relationships and whether your work feels meaningful.

Major Arcana cards often point to a larger career theme. The Chariot speaks to determination, The Hermit to stepping back to reflect, and The Tower to sudden change that clears the way for something new. Reversed cards, which appear about 30% of the time, can show where energy is stalled or where you're holding yourself back.

Phrasing a career question

Focus on what's within your control. Strong examples:

  • "What should I focus on to grow in my current role?"
  • "What's holding me back from starting this project?"
  • "What do I need to know before my next career move?"

Typing your question is optional, and it never leaves your browser.

Insight, not instructions

This spread is a structured way to think about work: where you are, what's in the way and what you could try next. It doesn't predict promotions, pay or job offers, and it shouldn't replace advice from a mentor or career professional. Like all Omoy readings, it's for entertainment and reflection only.

Frequently asked questions

Can a career tarot reading tell me if I'll get the job?

No. The spread offers perspective on your situation and possible next steps, but it can't predict hiring decisions or other outcomes.

What does the Obstacle card mean?

It points to the main friction in your working life right now, which may be outside you, like a process or a person, or inside, like doubt or fatigue.

Should I make career decisions based on tarot?

Omoy readings are for entertainment only. Use the cards to spark reflection, then make decisions with real information and trusted advice.
